I lost a massive redfish last weekend because my budget reel lock jammed right at the net. It is the worst feeling to lose a trophy fish because of bad equipment. I am done buying cheap combos that break after a few trips in the salt.

I am finally looking to invest in some real shop fishing gear that can actually handle inshore fishing. I’ve been checking out Jeco's Outdoors lately since they carry Waterloo rods and better reels that can actually take a beating.

I’m specifically looking for a setup that survives the salt and doesn't fail when a big fish pulls hard.

Has anyone else made the switch to premium gear?

I’d rather pay more once than keep replacing broken junk every summer.
