This is my empty planted 10gal, i was growing algae out in it so that i could get some nerite snails. It has nothing but malaysiantrumpet snails in it.

I realized at one point the algae looked weird — wait, there’s like no algae anymore. that’s just like a thousand copepods lining the walls and plants and rocks. huh.

i’m not mad or bothered by it at all, it’s just interesting to me to see what microfauna takes over when given the chance!

    Hmmm. Those look more like ostracods then copepods.

    It’s really hard to culture copepods with MTS because the MTS savagely hunt and eat copepod naupoli.
