Just picked up this lovely koi today from my local lfs. 1st time with a betta, previously had guppies and pea suffers. Surprisingly gentle thusfar, hasn't gone after any snails or shrimp, though it seems he does flare up at his own reflection from time to time. Will also update if/when his colors change.

Out of curiosity, did you ask your lfs for a specific type of betta or did they know what you meant by Koi Betta? I really like these but I’m not sure how to find one
I named my koi Emperor Norton, because he THINKS he rules the universe. Now his name is Lazarus or jerky because he jumped out of the tank. He was CRUSTY when I found him. It took him 3 days to get back to normal. He’s back to being his feisty, aggressive self now.
