I mistakenly didn’t take a photo of the top of the cup, everyday i debate going back for him but im in search of a female for my new tank im keeping 4 hillstream loaches in…this guy looks like a fricken fancy goldfish, you can just tell by looking at him too he had a great personality. Should i go back??? My male betta did not like the hillstreams so ;-; but maybe that was just him

Looks like a koi or copper koi?
Some yellow koi with a hella lot of white
I don’t know the answer to your question but he’s super cool!!! 😍😍😍
Females can be aggressive too, sex doesn’t seem to matter too much. Females can be super aggressive, some males can be very friendly. My male loves my hillstream loaches. He will literally jam himself in a plant next to one and he will sleep. They don’t even budge when he swims by, they know they’re all safe together. He’s a plakat male, so if he wanted to be aggressive he’d be quick and good at it, but he’s a very chill guy.
You kinda don’t know what a Betta will be like until you have them. You can handle their cup(very nicely and gently) and see how a betta reacts to like you putting your finger close to the cup or something. Flaring and attacking anything they see can be a sign of a fish that may not like tankmates. My current male was shipped to me by a breeder so I did not get this process with him but the male I had before my current one I had seen at a local small business and I grabbed his cup and looked at his behavior before getting him. He ended up being as calm as he seemed at the store! Some bettas may act chill at the store(especially if they’re weak or sick) and be feisty once they recover though, and some could act feisty and end up chill. You kinda just don’t know until you try. You could ask a store employee on what the return policy is and you could maybe return him if he’s super feisty, or maybe ask some of your friends if any of them have a set up tank that could use a betta and give him to a friend etc. Basically just feel out your options before getting any betta regardless of how they seem because bettas can be really tricky when you have a tank with tankmates
