started cycling this 10 gal before I left (fishless cycle) and i had to be out of town for two days and i just came home to this mess😭! is this from the biofilm on the driftwood?? if so how long will it be this way and what can i do to make it look less nasty lol

  1. This is biofilm, just leave it alone 🙂 If you plan on adding shrimp once cycled, they’ll devour it

    Normal part of cycling. Biofilm is eating sugars dissolving out of the wood. It’ll clear up on its own. And if any is there when cycle is complete both shrimp and snails will eat it right up.

  3. It will go away on its own once your tank cycles and you add some shrimp. My 5 cherry shrimp ate all of it off a piece of spider wood in my tank by the next day.

  4. Omg I’ve never used artificial decor but I’m obsessed with the sealoon please tell me where it’s from! (And the biofilm is fine just ignore it and it’ll disappear as the take finishes cycling and gets stocked.)
