Almost every other cast, I get wind knots and it’s kinda frustrating. What should I do? I’m already using braided line. Do I possibly have too much line? Should I soak my reel in warm water to “wipe its memory”? TIA!

Too much line, but it also looks way too loose. I’d go ahead and unspool it at least halfway and reel it back in making sure you’re keeping that line TIGHT. If it still looks too full after you do that you should take some off.

Are you fishing with lures or with live bait? If you go from light to heavy or heavy to light an don’t keep the spool tight you will get knots. If you’ve changed rods the distance from the spool to the first eylet changes too which could cause problems.

It’s definitely because you have too much line. The most common advice is to leave an 1/8 inch gap between the edge of your spool and the line. You can push it closer than that (1/16th works well) but you never want it bulging outside of the spool like you have. How close you go is basically a trade off between better casting distance vs the possibility of tangles.
