Hey all just posted this on FishingAustralia but I thought I’d get some good advice here as well.
I spent 5 hours today fishing this creek with no luck.
I used a #2 panther martin (multiple colours), 10lb braid (not ideal | know), and 6lb mono leader.
There's pools up to 3 meters deep (murky) and shallow riffles (crystal clear) all sporadically mixed together.
I only saw one fish the whole time I was out (decent brown) in a shallow rocky section. The only other life I saw were a few spiny crayfish, tadpoles, and a turtle.
The creek runs through my family's property and to my understanding has no public access for a good stretch although historically my neighbors have fished it and stocked it at times. Without doxing myself It's a tributary of the shoalhaven river by the great dividing range in NSW.
Is there anything obvious I'm doing wrong? Is my leader to heavy? Is the spinner not ideal? Am I wasting my time fishing the murky pockets and should focus on the clear moving water? I creek fished for years overseas ( not for trout) so I'm not doubting my fundamentals just yet but this feels odd.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated and if you reckon I just had bad luck don't hold back.

I’d try drifting nymphs or micro jigs sometimes in smaller water I feel the fish aren’t as willing to chase a spinner in such clear water.
