Hey all I just wanted to know what I should do with my betta who has been suffering from a tumor due to genetic issues. he is a koi plakat betta male and has a giant white tumor growing on his sides like the drawing i provided (excuses for the bad drawing). At first he has been doing fine eating and all, but recently I see him swimming erratically like spasms two or three times a day and he has been lying down resting more than before (although not as often as really sick bettas). I’ve been taking care of him since he still likes to eat and stuff but I’m getting more and more concerned of his tumor. What should I do?
Thanks all 🙂

I’m by no means an expert, but it sounds like the tumor hit his nervous system and is causing him pain. I don’t think he’s gonna make it
Sounds like it’s time to euthanize. Sorry OP
Usually I wait until they stop swimming to the top to eat, but the spasms are concerning. Probably best to euthanize sooner rather than later if it seems like he’s in pain or stressed.
Hammer time 🔨
Can we see what it looks like in a real picture ?
I like his portrait 🥺
Mine lived for over a year after developing something like that. I think he was 3 when he died.
Keep his water extra clean, do water changes every other day and keep him comfy. Tumors can grow and shrink over time. If he’s eating I wouldn’t rush to euthanize.
sounds like the tumour is hitting his nerves.. i’d euthanise at this point unfortunately /(
Why is it drawn instead of a picture ?
Clove oil.. I’m sorry.
The coloration and such of the area gives me info so a picture wouls be amazing but thats most likely a large tumor
