I've had Sauron for about 2 months now and he's a good eater, tank parameters are great 0 ppm nitrate and nitrite, he's got anubius and tannins, buuuuut he's had a dramatic color change that doesn't look healthy to me, but I'm still learning, so maybe it's new?
He doesn't appear stressed, has a single nerite snail buddy, tank isn't huge, but it is 5 gallons. He went from pitch black with silver iridescence to his face now looking as it does. Does anyone have any specific concerns or thoughts other than he's maturing and changing color?

If the first pic is before and the second pic is after he’s absolutely fine. He’s healthier than he used to be.

Which is the before and which is the after pic? If the first now and second before then agreed, not doing well.
What are the water parameters and water change schedule?
i would also do 50% water change asap
