Looking to get one of these so I can stop taking my kayak apart to put it on the roof of the Rav.

It will be fine! Allow yourself more braking room than normal and you’ll get a feel for how well your brakes are handling the load, I’d send that

I pulled a kayak on a trailer behind my Kia forte and now a Honda CRV. Kayaks are so light in comparison to boats, it doesn’t really feel like you’re pulling anything

My wife’s Honda Civic can **safely** tow a kayak and trailer.

Just make sure to get the hitch and wiring professionally done. Most large Uhaul centers can do it for you.

  4. Please watch a few How To videos on YT or something. Go over the usual checks and safety for towing anything on your vehicle. You could potentially hurt or kill someone if you don’t do it right. Chains are a must. Do your walkthrough or checklist every time you get on the road with it.

My friend nearly lost his wife when a trailer that wasn’t maintained or secured correctly jackknifed and a tire came off and flew through her windshield. It missed her by inches. The trailer smashed into another innocent driver a lane over.
