I pick this guy up last night and after I acclimated him and put him in he started breathing heavy and swimming against the glass. It's been about 24 hours of keeping the lights off and he settled down but is now doing it again. I put in a air stone In the water parameters are fine. My pH is lower than most tanks so I'm assuming that's what he is adjusting to but I'm still worried. Have I just not gave him enough time?

Posting specific parameters will get you an answer a lot faster and more accurately.
Did you get multiple? Pictus are best kept in groups of 3+.
It might just be him struggling to acclimate as he was fi sure in a different ph since mos peoples are 7-8 so I think he should’ve been drip acclimated. For now through just let him chill out and I wouldn’t add more until so. And next time drip acclimation I think
