does this look to be right to you? I've had it where I cast and the braid just snaps.

While it is bent, it shouldn’t really be cutting your braid unless there’s a sharp spot (which you’d notice)
I bet you’ve got a cracked eyelet on your rod that’s slicing your braid.
You don’t have nearly enough line on your Penn real. You’d want to back it with mono to bring the braid to the lip of the spool
Your reel is also better suited for mono and would probably perform really well properly filled with fresh limp high quality mono line. (Berkly XL, suffix siege, etc. package will say limp, flexible, manageable etc)
