The Chonkbait

  1. Finally made a lure that cranks as all lure makers must eventually do.

The paint and epoxy almost made him too heavy, but he still just barely floats which is cool. I don’t think he’ll dive much, maybe 2-3 feet, but that’s fine. Should cast well since he’s pretty heavy and nice and round like a baseball.

It’s taken me a little while to get a Bluegill looking paint job together that is actually coherent and appealing looking outside of just being the right sorta colours. I’m really happy with how it came together. Breaking it up along three lines that sorta line up with the rhombus shape of my lure more or less is what pulled it together.

A diving crankbait is my next project, along with a sinking lure that spirals down.
