Ive had good luck using this to add a little pop to my baits in murky water, I usually barely dip the tail or something. It only takes the smallest amount, I haven’t had problems w it destroying baits. Maybe its the plastic they used to make your bait?

I’ve had great success dipping chatterbait trailers or plastic tails in the chartreuse when I’m around lots of bluegills – not sure it works but gives some extra confidence for me and my success

This is gonna sound crazy BUT get unflavored gelatin. Seriously. Get your artificial bait wet and coat it with the gelatin. I dont fish often anymore but it works. Gelatin is strait protein and it takes anywhere from 20 to 40 mins to dissolve completely and then you recoat your bait. Doesn’t cost much and simple and easy to use.
