Hello everyone,

Been fishing for about a year with a budget combo and finally decided to upgrade. Spent a few weeks comparing different options before pulling the trigger.

I was originally looking at some popular mid range rods that are easy to find locally, stuff in the 150 to 200 euro range that people recommend a lot here. They seemed solid but then I came across a Japan domestic model designed specifically for rock fishing, the Daiwa 21 HRF AIR 86M/MHB. The specs looked more suited for what I wanted, lighter blank, better sensitivity around structure, and purpose built for this style.

Only problem is JDM gear doesnt ship internationally so I ended up ordering through OneMall and having it forwarded. Took about two weeks total.

After a few sessions I can definitely feel the difference compared to my old setup. The weight makes longer sessions easier on the arm and I am picking up bottom contact much clearer than before. Still getting used to the lighter feel but overall happy with the upgrade.

Wanted to share in case anyone else here is considering JDM gear for rock fishing.
