First picture is January 2020, second picture is today. 3rd-5th are the tank he came from and the last picture is where he is at today. He has had a long journey and I have no idea how he is still alive.

I got him from petco, my only amano I've ever had. I have hundreds and hundreds of cherry shrimp in other aquariums. But only the one amano. He was…left alone for the last two years at my parents home while I get settled in my new home, 4 hours away. I thought he was long dead, being in a fluval flex that only had water top ups for the last two years. But to my surprise when I got the tank to my home and fully drained everything…he was crawling around the substrate!

He is over 6 years old, massive, and still happy.

  1. I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but what substrate are you using for your carpet (I’m assuming it’s dwarf hair grass?) it looks peerfectttt I’d love to achieve something like that!!

I have some amano shrimp that are somewhere between 8 and 9 years old. If you take good care of them they can get quite old.
