I had taken a break from keeping bettas but never left the aquarium hobby. I didn't really plan on coming back so soon until I saw this sad little betta at my local pet store while getting live plants for my community tank. I walked passed him originally and picked out the plants before heading to check out. While I was about to reach the cash register I had made up my mind and went back for him.
I had a 2 gallon quarantine tank set up at home so the plan while he was quarantining I would set up a fully planted natural scape tank for him.
A week and a half later that 2 gallon sprung a leak while I was out, thankfully the leak was just at the top and he didn't loose much water but I didnt trust it. That day I thankfully had come home with a 5 gallon and so I switched him over to it. It is currently bare bottom as I'm waiting on the scape materials in the mail.
It had been a long Rollercoaster of events but everything should be here this week and I can set it up.
Meanwhile Fuyuka (I know its a girls name but I just think "Winter flower" suits him so much) did a 180 transformation going from corpse, blooming into this beautiful male. The gap on his anal fin is where he had fin rot and with the proper care, shed off leaving healthy fin.
…
I still am not sure what tail type he is though, he was sold to me as a crowntail but I have my doubts.
Comments on what tail type you think he is?
My guess is veil tail with armageddon coloration.
…
Pictures of when I got him and 2 weeks later (yesterday).
