Taken the new pup out multiple times by myself this season with no issues, and the first time there’s a group of us I got complacent and leaned the auger against the sled. Didn’t see it happen but since it’s such a clean cut, I can only assume he ran passed it and barely brushed up against the blade. (NSFW because of the wound)

Poor little guy. Hope he heals up quick.
I always dig mine into the ice, throw the shanty rope over it incase the wind comes up. Hope the puppy is ok.
I don’t own a dog and I try to do it whenever I’m done with the auger. Nobody can ever claim to be never clumsy. Plus it helps prevent snow and slush from sticking on the blades which makes your next hole harder to drill.
