I am devastated. I was cleaning my tank and looked away from the siphon for just a moment and went to go vacuum again and it stopped suctioning. Confused, I looked down the hose and find one of my beloved ropefish in the hose. this has never happened in the 5 years I have kept ropefish. I spent two hours very carefully cutting away the hose with a razor, hoping that would be enough to release him, but it is much worse than I thought. I am having a hard time sawing this part off of him, but I am also terrified of cutting him.
Even if he does live through this ordeal, he is clearly very hurt. I feel horrendous for doing this to my sweetheart. what do I do?
