I purchased this new Penn Spinfisher VI 2500 with Live Liner and 15lb braid from my local fishing shop for $140 out the door. I'm mostly fishing for Surf Perch, Halibut, and Stripers in Santa Cruz or Monterey area.
1) Do you think$140 is a good price? Which reel would you have purchased instead?
2) I have (2) Okuma Rockaway SPs, what is a comparable rod but less expensive. I prefer something that will make catching perch fun and feel like a fight
3) With the 2500 spool size, so you suggest a specific setup (c-rig, jerk bait, etc?)?
4) For anyone who has Live Liner… do you use it?
