I am not getting straight answer so I’ll ask here. Would a air freshner in my room, anhillate my tank? I used to have cats, and the pissed everywhere. Even after cleaning the carpet 4 times it still smells like ass. Im getting mixed answers on google so. Eel pic for attention

I wouldn’t worry about much unless its an aerosol spray.
Do you have a lid over your tank??
That pee is probably on the underpad of your rug and that’s what smells, I’d strip that floor bare and put down hardwood or composite.
Air freshener could just make the smell worse.
My old cat went senile and peed on the rugs, had to get rid of them to sell the house.
Aerosol spray could be harmful.
But also im not sure it’s going to be as effective as youre hoping. Cat piss smell is DIABOLICAL and its probably infesting the underlay of the carpet.
It might be worth biting the bullet and getting the underlay/carpet redone to free yourself from cat pee hell
Natures Miracle works wonders on pee. Just pour it on so it soaks deep into the carpet. Place a laundry basket over it (so you don’t step in the wet spot) and let it air dry. Smell will disappear.
You made the right choice by swapping cats for fish. I agree that you will need to excavate that carpet if you have the option.
yes it’s toxic for your fish. and air fresheners do not get rid of odors, just mix together until it smells like flowers and urine. research effective deodorizing methods, along with properly cleaning your carpet with specialty soap, and open your windows as much as you can. ventilation helps.
Yes any air freshener could potentially nuke your tank.
Probably be fine. But… maybe. Aerosol will just be faster. Scents kind of need to be in the air to be smelled so there’s no way to keep them out of the tank.
It depends on the scent. One could be fine. Another scent from the same brand could eradicate coral, another could be toxic to fish…

You need enzyme cleaner. That stuff chemically breaks down cat pee
Oxi clean. Let it soak down into the stains to destroy the odor. Air fresheners will only create cat piss scented “ocean breeze” or whatever spray you get

Prob all the way through the pad. If you cannot take it up then saturate area with half vinegar and half water. Let stand for 10 minutes. Use towels and heavy weights to press down for another 10-15. Then test area with hydrogen peroxide. If good saturate area with hydro peroxide and let stand 10 min. Use towels and heavy weights to press down for 10-15 minutes. Use a fan to directly blow into the carpet and allow to dry 3-4 hours. Hope this helps.
