anyone else's betta weird like this?? he will NOT eat unless he has to jump out of the water. I can drop a pellet right on his head and he will act like it doesn't exist. If I point to the food, he will jump out of the water at my finger and sometimes grab the food off the surface in the process. all he wants to do is bite me 😭 my finger is his number one enemy

Well thats adorable
Your betta actually looks a bit too thin. Try feeding different brands of betta pellets and see if he likes some foods more than others and increase the amount you’re feeding until he reaches an ideal body condition.
Is there a lid?? If not how much lower is the water from the rim?? It seems kinda sketchy to train the beta to jump if there is no lid. It’s still adorable tho! Just don’t want him jumping out
My one does this! I either have to let him jump for it or move it around on the surface of the water, if i just drop it in he wont recognise it as food
