Are either of these big enough for my 2 Halfmoon Male Bettas?

  1. Not to keep in long term, maybe if it was an emergency or during a quick water change but they’re too small to live in. Also cups like these have coatings inside them that could leech into the water and potentially cause problems to the fish.

I think they are both too big… try putting a goldfish in the 3oz… that might work…

  3. Personally I would do a 3.5-5gallon tank for a betta at the smallest over the tiny ones that are sold in kits. It gives them room to explore their territory and swim around and stretch their fins. It also gives you the option to have a companion fish or shrimp. Also these sizes usually come with a filter included for water quality and to help aerate the tank (add oxygen). Keep in mind the smaller the tank the more often you’ll need to do water changes to keep the water clean. Also only change 25-50% of the water so you don’t shock/stress out the fish. Don’t forget to dechlorinate the water if you’re using tap water.

  4. Those little cups should not be used to house any fish? Are you trying to keep a fish in a cup? A Betta needs a 5-gallon aquarium minimum.

I think you could probably fit 3 in the 3oz, 5 in the 5oz. 1 betta per oz – my LFS told me that so i know it’s true

I think a shot glass would work better for 2 betta. With that size you could even put a pleco and a few snails

  7. Id go for the 5oz cup if youre looking to start a community tank. Else 3oz is fine.

ahhh but all that space i think you’d be better off skipping the betta and getting three comet goldfish for your 3oz 🩷 i know that’s a lot of space for them but i like to be cautious, some might say six comets in a big tank like that but people forget how fast they grow! 3 in 3oz is perfect

1? I think you mean a school of them. Also get GloFish and a bunch of plecos for cleanup

  10. Since there’s no lid, don’t forget to keep an inch of clearance between the water line and the rim!

Stock with at least 5 males, so the aggression is balanced.

My lfs told me that with the new patch bettas can be kept without water? They mentioned something like ‘death’ but that must be irrelavent.
