Hello! I was wondering how much I should be feeding him? I got him the Ultra Fresh Betta Pro Shrimp Patties, freeze dried bloodworms, and frozen daphnia. I’ve had him for just about a week and have been feeding like this:

And all the food is spread throughout the day, not all at once

Sunday- 6-7pellets, 1 bloodworm

Monday- 8-9 pellets

Tuesday- none

Wednesday- frozen daphnia

Thursday- 8-9 pellets

Friday- None

Saturday-daphnia, 1-3 pellets

For the daphnia, I melted one cube from the package in some tank water and then divided into 16 smaller ice cubes. On the days he got daphnia, I gave him half of the ice cube and the snails take care of whatever he doesn’t eat (I don’t know how many he east)

He looks and behaves normal, curious and looking for more food. I just wanted to know if this is too much or too little and if my schedule seems okay?

Thank you!!

NQA I feel like that’s a lot but I’m no expert lol. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in!

  2. Pellets should be 4-6 daily either split into 2 meals or all at once. Though I think you make up for it with 2 fasting days. Id say closer to 4-5 pellets + blood worm for example. Though keep in mind a healthy diet can vary with activity, tank and individual fish, keep a close eye on his weight for several months, look from above as it will give you the clearest results and alter portions when necessary, here’s a good rule of thumb chart to base off of. You’re doing amazing!

  3. betas apparently can become overweight pretty easily, so just make sure to watch the belly area. sometimes it’s good to not feed for a few days. i usually just sprinkle like 5-10 pellets in the tank once a day. then i skip a feeding day at least once a week if not more
