I swear the main income of the sponge bob franchise must be those aquarium props.

Remember tanks are completely subjective and the only opinion that matters is yours, you are looking it everyday. The style is different from my preference although, it’s worth acknowledging that my preference also changed over time. I’d say the fish might enjoy so more plants over time, perhaps some driftwood. Be careful with your stocking as it’s so easy to overstock and have a headache in the coming weeks / months. Ember tetras are very nice. Good luck and enjoy.

So I’ll give a serious answer as you’re likely going to get a lot of sarcasm to start. People who understand fish, aquariums, water parameters and such will hate this. All the plastic and potential to leech a bunch of gunk into the water column. A proper aquarium will be mostly,
If not entirely natural. The pineapple of death as someone has mentioned, is because the plastic junk along with dyes, can end up killing the fish.

Personally i despise these kind of tanks. They are extremely unnatural and don’t provide a lot of hiding spaces for fish. If someone gifted me this i’d throw everything but the tank into the garbage and start over.

Its also small for tetras AND guppies imo, you’d have happier fish if you picked one and got like 8-10 of them. Please also only get one mystery, they poop a ton.

looks like a cool tank but i’d get like tall live plants. you’re doing good tho

Get actual natural substrate (brown), real plants. Find some driftwood pieces you like, some rocks. Fish like plants, they like being able to hide. Real plants also help clean your tank as well.

You can find a ton of educational content on YouTube.

Honestly tho, If you like how it looks keep it but I would suggest to keep stocking pretty low and make sure you have a some good filter media. Also without live plants and a natural substrate system you probably will have to make a routine of gravel vacuuming quite often because it could end with you losing fish due to waste build up

WHO LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA?!?!?

  9. Honestly I think it’s great. Could use Patrick’s rock or the krusty krab. Just make sure nothing is leaching chemicals into the water. No idea how to do that though.

Look..so I know this comment section probably killed your joy a bit..and Im not gonna lie and say I disagree with the general opinion 😂 BUT I remember when I got my first aquarium and I filled it with all that ugly plastic nonsense and I thought it was beautiful, so I understand where youre coming from here. Many people start there and then realize natural is always better, non-painted gravel, driftwood, rocks, live plants. Your fish will be more at ease in a more natural environment my friend. Dont let us kill your joy for the hobby just yet though😂

  11. It’s cute and very much a beginner tank. Your filter will need todo the bulk of the cleaning for it. which isn’t a problem, but it will be a weekly if not bi weekly task.

great job, newbie! Aesthetically, this kind of tank is not my jam, but it is pretty. Functionality wise, it’s also not my jam because live plants, aquatic soil and/or sand, real wood etc will give you a much more stable environment for your fish. I would also stick with a single species for a tank that size. Welcome to the hobby 🙂

Since everything is fake I give it a 0. Fish benefit from having life in the tank. But it doesn’t look bad if you’re into that look
