Hello Everyone!
So I wanted to share a plan for my new tank that I will be setting up soon. I don’t have anything adding CO2, just the built in Tetra tank light, filter and heater.
These are the plants I was thinking by of using and the tank layout more or less. What are your thoughts on the plant selection and placement? Any changes you would recommend?
The tank will be housing a betta, a small school of corydoras, and about 2-3 nerite snails, and/or possibly some shrimp eventually depending on the temperament of the betta.
(Note: I want a good amount of plants around the filter as I need it to reduce the direct output flow so it’s not too strong for betta, if needed I will also add some additional sponge to the output.)

I would skip the nerites as aquasoil will very likely make the water too soft and acidic for them. They need hard water with high pH to thrive.
The rest sounds fine? Will be easier to judge and give advice when the tank is put together to see just what it all really looks like. Only thing I can say is that the more plants the better. Especially in a big tank. Id add a lot more plant mass all over, more variety, different heights, rotalas, crypts everywhere, swords, hygrophilas, etc. Especially if you’re using aquasoil! From the picture alone it looks like a big part of the tank will be kinda empty 😅
RE the floaters; I will say in my experience so far with amazon frogbit (i literally bought it just over a week ago) it has near doubled in size / spread out!
And this alongside the duckweed being quite invasive (people say it’s so hard to get rid of 😂) might be too much; maybe just start with the frogbit for floaters?
