Would it be good for surf fishing and where do I tie the line ?

This type of jig is always in my arsenal when I’m on the beach. I typically use it when wind is a little heavier than my other lures allow for, the fish are very active and/or bluefish are around (all fish can be caught on these but the length and metal make the bluefish teeth less of an issue) or the bite is good but it requires a long cast.
If I’m fishing close or in very calm conditions I will probably go for something else. Unless bluefish are around then I might still use it.
You should be fine tying it off on the “head” of the jig at least the ones I use you tie off on the head.
