Hello, I've had my betta for about a year now. Yesterday I noticed one or two white things hanging off his fins. I figured it was debris or something and left it alone. Today they seem to have multiplied.

Does anyone know what these are/ what I should do about them?

He lives alone with a small snail population. A few days ago his filter gave out, and I have been waiting on an impeller part to be delivered. Also, I tried feeding him baby brine shrimp I hatched a few days ago (to no avail). It may be connected to that?

Please help!

Looking more on Google it looks like it may be anchor worms?
To me they look more worm like than lice and dont really look like leeches but obviously I’m not sure.

Google seems to suggest using an parasite med and dosing the tank with aquarium salt? Never done that before. Should I save some of the snails in another tank or does that just risk reintroducing them?

    Freaked out!
