My first thought is perhaps they need more plants to hide?
DONT CRUCIFY ME, I have planted areas on either side of my 4ft tank, I leave the middle of the column open for these guys to dart around as they are very active swimmers, but this behavior makes me think maybe they need more plants. Opinions are welcom.
