Hi y’all. I got this betta fish over the weekend at an Aquarium expo. I saw it and got it on a whim, I just couldn’t say no when I saw these beautiful patterns. The vendor said that it was a hybrid wild type betta imported from Thailand, but that’s all the information I got. Any ideas as to what this fish actually is? Based on the ID, I want to make sure I’m providing the best care I can.
I had a 5 gallon planted tank cycled and ready to go with some almond leaves and a mild amount of tannins, so it worked out and he went from a grey color to much brighter very quickly once he was in a heated tank with clean water. I’ve given him some small amounts of frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms these first few days.

I’ve seen these at petco under the name “alien male”, not sure of the actually morph name, maybe that’s it
