The Cortland CL was an entry-level rod in the $80 class (one step above big box prepacked outfits) about twenty years ago. It’s only value is as a keepsake and/or rod you want to use because it was his.

CL is a fine rod depending on where/how you fish, and came with a lifetime warranty. Still fish one i bought in ’99 as a broke college student. Fish don’t seem to know it didn’t cost much 🙂
