Hi all! just got my first betta about a month ago now, i’ve always been a goldfish owner but my last goldfish passed last year, and after some extensive research i’ve decided to try out a betta. i think i have everything i need, so please please give me any tips or advice ill need to know to keep him happy and healthy. and let me know if he’s looking good so far because bettas are soooo different from goldfish
i have him in a ten gallon tank, a heater for temp control, and a grass plant (i absolutely plan to get more live plants and i’ll take any recommendations). also i only have a snail in the tank with him, i know tank mates are pretty hard to find for bettas
anyways, this is Captain Percy Wellington, heir to the Wellington throne (all of my goldfish were also heirs to the Wellington throne, Fish Wellington being my first ever fishy, rip) first pic is him now and second is him when i first got him

He’s super pretty! what plant do you currently have in there? Personally I’ve had lots of luck with anubias sp with my bettas. the leaves are rubbery and tough but they’re round and not sharp and anubias plants can be pretty hardy. however they are weird and aren’t like a lot of plants and their rhizome needs to be above the substrate so it helps to glue it to something or put it between stuff. I also like my Amazon sword, my Betta tends to lay on the leaves
Welcome home little one 💕✨️
Its look like a candy bro
