Betta Fish: Update: “No clue what I’m doing”

I posted yesterday asking for advice after my two young kids were given bettas, something I had no prior knowledge of, but I want to give the fish a good life anyway. I got a lot of very helpful feedback, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who commented!

In addition to reading all of the helpful comments on that post, I went to a locally owned fish store today and the staff was very helpful. For my situation, they suggested switching the fish to their bigger tanks today and doing a fish-in cycle.

I’m happy with how the new tanks have turned out so far, but I do plan on getting some more plants soon. Of course I’d be happy to get some feedback on what could be better!
