I think the line is a lighter weight suited for bluegill. I've only ever caught a couple bluegill using night crawlers.
My local park has a pond with a variety of fish. I think they advertise Catfish, bass, and some others

Should be good to go. I use my medium rod for all my worm set ups and medium sized crank baits

If that line is 6-8lb it should work just fine for bass! I know plenty of people who like to bass fish with lighter line. The reel and rod looks good to handle them too. I would look up a video on how to properly set your drag and how to rig and fish a Texas rig with the kit you bought for bass. For bigger fish though I would avoid lifting them out of the water using your rod with that line. Either net them or drag them on shore

I’m assuming the line is at least 6lb test (the rod says to use 6-14lb line). If so, you can definitely catch bigger things than bluegill as long as your drag is set correctly. The rod itself has enough power for bigger fish and can cast heavier jigs (the lure weight listed is 1/4-5/8oz). If you want, you could put on 8, 10, or 12lb line on, but you’re probably ok as-is.

this is actually a tad overkill for bluegill most panfish rods will be 1-4lb 1/32-1/8oz light or ultralight rated this would be great for a bass setup

  5. That action is a good do all for walleye, bass, pike sized fish. I would even feel comfortable using it for salmon.
It’s a bit heavy to be ideal for panfish but would work if it was all you had.

It depends on what your line weight is but that rod and your tackle would be perfect for bass

Caught 6′ sturgeon on a bass pole and 8# test. You’re good for most things

I caught a 32” pike through the ice last year on a 28” ultralight with 2lb braid. I’ve pulled multiple 30”+ steelhead out of rivers with a 6’ medium action ugly stick, this rod will catch almost anything you will find in fresh water.

On my work setup. I fish with a 4 piece ultra light with 6lb braided line to 4lb fluorocarbon leader. I catch all types of fish on it with some decent sized bass and sheep head. As long as you got your drag set, you’ll be alright.

  10. Absolutely! Out in a bully weight and then tie on one of the hooks from your third picture. Then look up how to Texas rig a worm and you’re good to go! This is the best skunk buster out there in my opinion when I just wanna get a bass on shore

People have caught 10lb catfish on dock runners. If you learn how to use the gear you got you’ll be good.
