I've had this spinning reel with what I think mono on it idk (or whatever it came with) and I got it like 2 years ago. The line it has is starting to give out easily on about 5lb bass (rod came with 8lb line) so I think it's time for some new line. I'm gonna upgrade to 10lb braid just I don't know which color to get. Do I get whatever color I want and color the end with sharpie like some people do it what? Help me out guys, just need to know what color to get….tks

Get whatever color and throw on a fluorocarbon or mono leader. That’s my take anyhow, you’ll get others who tie direct, or maybe the marker trick but I use less visible leaders.
Just get dark green. Also, it’s a little pricy but 10 pound daiwa jbraid is amazing. There’s lots of good braid out there but that’s what I use. Don’t use spiderwire. You’re going to be shocked how far you can cast lol. Also, learn the Alberto knot (FG knot is better but is a royal pain to learn) and throw some 8 pound fluorocarbon on as a leader. It’s less visible to the fish, and your mainline will never weaken because the fluoro will absorb the brunt of the impact of rocks and obstacles rather than weakening your braid. Edit to add: get whatever color makes you happy. Don’t get too hung up on color
My tip is get a high-vis braid line, which is nice to be able to keep track of on the surface & to be able to spot it under the water, then tie about 6 feet of fluorocarbon leader onto the end of it with an FG knot or Alberto.
Best of both worlds – all the advantages of braid sensitivity combined with fluorocarbon that’s basically invisible!
I’d recommend Suffix 832 or J-braid because they’re smoother than something like powerpro, which is not something you notice until you’ve used both & one feels genuinely rough coming through the eyelets.
What is I just get dark green or grey and keep it just with that. Not too complicated
