I've had him just over a week now, and noticed this once I got him home. I've been keeping a very close eye on it, and it has not changed even slightly in color, shape or size. Anyone have any ideas? Is it potentially just some weird scales, or something more to worry about? I can get some better macro photos later if needed

It honestly just looks like a color change to me.
Bettas often change color after settling into a new tank.
