The worst is when you catch a fish and get a finger caught and the fish is going berserk on the other treble…

Haha. Been there. Whopper hooks are wild. Burried one of those in my back pulling it out of a tree. Thank god there was a kayak fisherman close by. We were on an empty lake. He and I still laugh about it when I run into him. We used fireball and pliers. It hurts but doable. Good luck brother.

  3. One of the many reasons I almost exclusively run single barbless hooks, the only exception is my halibut/deep water jigging gear. Haven’t used barbed hooks or trebles in freshwater for years as I pretty much always practice C&R.

  4. Done this. You Need to push it through and cut it which is exactly what they’ll do at the hospital.

It hurts but you can carry on fishing!

Treble is not the problem – barb is the problem. Nothing wrong with swapping out trebles for single hooks, but if you remove the barbs – you’ll never have trouble removing a hook from yourself

Those whopper ploppers are brutally sharp. Been clipped countless times. You won this one.

  7. If you fish long enough, this will eventually happen. Have a plan and know the proper extraction technique.

  8. I mean, it looks like you’re not particularly easy on your fingers to begin with, judging on that bandaid you already have.

  9. Imagine that in your lip. 😢 Heal fast op!! I hope extraction wasn’t too bad!
