I'm putting together a southwestern themed tank for a homesick neighbor. Quite a challenge combining desert and aquarium, but I'm about it and excited for my basic plan so far. Of course there's no way I could keep sand in actual shapes like this. My idea is to hide the substrate under layered lines of different colored sand, example above. Is it possible to use dividers of some kind to keep the sand lines from blending too bad? I've seen substrate dividers, but they're made to be used vertically, not horizontally
