Buddy gave me this pack of braid. Was gonna spool it on my new baitcaster but I’ve been told to use thicker line but I’m not 100% sure. For reference, I’m very new to baitcasters so any advice would be appreciated!

I use 20lbs for my all purpose baitcaster with a 1 ft 10lbs fluoro leader. Never had an issue. Not sure about the thicker line but if you feel like this spool will not be enough to spool your reel, just put a mono or fluoro backing and then tie this one. If ou still have the box it will tell you the amount of line the spool can take. I have 150 reels and I use a bit more than 150m of braid.
Braided line will always be thinner than mono or fluoro when compared lb for lb
