Did you cycle your tank first?
I really recommend live plants! They love hanging out in between the leaves. Your little guy is gorgeous, btw!
I’d get rid of the hides with holes in it. If it looks like his head will fit then he can get stuck.

First of all, what a stunning Betta!! I found what helped my Betta was planting to give them stuff to relax/ swim in between. People say just live but I have a mix of live java moss (incredibly easy to maintain) and an artificial bamboo forest to swim in.

Get rid of the “moss” ball, limit fable decorations, maximize live plants and plant density, invest in high quality food.
