Sorry this post may be a bit dumb but I can get health anxiety(both for myself and for my fish). This is my betta Arthur, and I didn't look this close before so I'm not sure if how the ends of his scales seem to slightly lift is normal or not? I'd love some gentle input! First two pics are the texture in talking about and the others are how he looks from the side.
He is acting normal, he's active, curious and eating. What also makes me more nervous is he looks kinda fat from the side, he's always been a tall-bodied fish so he always looked thick from the side even when I got him and he was evidently skinny via overhead view. The scale texture and the possible bloat has been making me super nervous(dropsy is scary) so I've been giving him a daily epsom salt bath this past week(would help with bloating anyway if he is bloated).
My parameters measured at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 5.0 nitrates. Planted 10 gallon long, cycled since winter of 2024
Unsure whether to mark with spoiler because I can't tell if he's sick or not hence the question :')
