I have recently bought my first betta fish. He’s been in his tank for 2 days now and seems okay. He’s eating and is quite active. Could anyone tell me what type of betta fish he is and if he seems healthy?

Is your tank cycled? What are the parameters from the last test? Also it looks like you might be able to add a bit more water in the tank.
He might have ammonia burn from the pet store cup, if that’s where you got him. You can tell by the red line on his gills. Good water conditions will fix it on its own. Otherwise, looks healthy.
As for “type”, I’m not sure what you’re asking. Tail type? Probably a delta tail. Color? All of that is a marketing scam and there’s very few actual distinctions. He’s a betta, and a pretty one.
