My boyfriend bought me a betta for my birthday, so this is Barbecue Sauce! I had a betta a few years back but most recently had a cichlid (RIP Crafty Michael) and haven’t been able to really scape a tank in a few years because he’d just destroy everything. How’s this tank? I don’t like keeping live plants, mainly fear of snail infestation and ammonia spikes, so I’m using silk / silicone plants.

Tank size is 20 gallons / 75L, and there are 2 hides in the tank — the log and the large brown rock behind it + a floating log. My cichlid preferred high flow / current, so I diffused the filter flow with a sponge and the only water movement comes from the air stone.

It’s only been a couple days, but so far he’s been really active, curious, using the feeding ring (he gets bloodworms mostly) and comes to the front when I get close to the tank 🙂 any advice / recommendations for changes??
