Betta Fish: Male? Female?

So, before anything I want to say: I know the fins look rough, I split a tank in half and put this one in one half and had another one of my female koi bettas in another half while I was moving her to a new tank. When I turned my back this one (alien betta) jumped to the other side (I know they are jumpers)

I didn’t have the water level that high and I was 3d printing a mesh lid while my glass lid is on the way) (also I was supposed to receive this fish (alien betta) on the 17th but it arrived on the 13th so I was under the impression I had time for its tank to arrive (spoiler I did NOT)) so the reason the fins are roughed up is cause this alien jumped into the koi bettas side and well… you see what happened.

Now, I’m giving this betta salt baths and plenty of food and they are definitely doing better. I also have tannins in the water cause I don’t want to stress it too much with constant moving in and out of the tank.

Anyway, While observing them I noticed a white spot where females have an ovipositor… it was sold to me as male. What did you guys think?
