first time posting so please give some grace! got this girl from petsmart about 5 days ago. tank was already cycled and levels established almost perfectly. working on adding in live plants but just can’t seem to keep them alive. i know petsmart isn’t the best place to buy a betta, but to me she looks fairly healthy. she had some bloat when i first got her but she fasted and it’s gone down. she’s become very comfortable in her tank now and doesn’t hide when i come near, very active. is there anything that i am missing? i am no expert by any means!

Not an expert either, but other than the bloat she looks pretty good! Her fans are transparent at the edges which means they are growing.
aside from the little bit of bloating left, her fine look great and you can see they are growing back at the edges!
i’d feed her once every two days for now and less than you would normally until the bloat is fully gone, then start feeding normally 🙂
