I’m running a bonafide XTR 130 and start to rethink storage layout—especially for tools, lures and quick-access gear.
Pic 1 is my planned setup with how I’m thinking about placement.
Pic 2 is super clean and functional rig I came across here—really like how everything is laid out.(credit in comments)
What do you guys keep within arm’s reach at all times?
Curious how you guys have yours dialed in.

How does OOP reach their rods being so far back? I know these style kayaks are super stable, but it seems cumbersome at that location.
Best way to sort this is to set it up however you like, then head to the water. Getting out there will tell you everything in just a few minutes. Then you can fine tune from there.
My setup is simple. Crate behind seat so I can reach my stuff. Rod holders behind seat but in reach so a can troll from spot to spot. If a bring a fish finder, it goes to the right since I’m right handed. Cup holder to my left. I keep my pliers on my vest along with my clippers whistle and knife.
From off the car to in the water, it take just a couple moments to set this up. My goal is to be on the water, not messing with gear and cameras.
Best of luck!
