Hi,

I broke my rod grip on my St. Croix Mojo Salt series. It was a gift from my uncle and the cork bit is done for. The actual inside that is the rod is still intact. I just wanted to know if this is able to be fixed or if you guys could point me in the right direction. I'm new to fishing and this is my first rod. I've attached images below so you guys can better understand the situation.

Gotta be honest, judging by the bend in that grip the underlying rod is definitely not fine. I’d suggest reaching out to St. Croix – they may not fully replace it but I’d bet they’d at least give you a good discount on a new one.

The “actual inside of the rod” is most definitely not still intact. Rod blanks go all the way through the grip, and your blank is broke af. The “right direction” is to file a warranty claim with St. Croix and see if you can get a discounted replacement… if it’s still in warranty then they will typically replace rods for a nominal fee, like 50 or 60 bucks.

I’m sure this can be fixed. In all of my 6 decades of fishing I’ve see countless rod tips broken but this is the first time I’ve seen a grip portion broken. If it means a lot to you then take it to a good rod wrapper and I’m sure they will hook you up. Most tackle shops that have been around have guys who work with them to do custom wraps or repairs. Good luck!
