I’m a Texas Catfisherman. I have never caught carp or buffalo surprisingly. Can you guys tell me which I have here?

Buffalo, no barbles(whiskers) usually means a sucker and not a carp.

Mouth facing down = smallmouth buffalo. Awesome fish!
Like someone else said an easy way to tell common carp from native suckers and minnows is the barbels. Common carp have them and buffalo, redhorse, carpsuckers, etc don’t.
