I’ve been fishing in saltwater for about an year, (jig-heads and soft plastic 1/4 oz up to 1oz depending on current and wind) been fishing almost every other day and my two most used and favorite rods have been “Shield 3 medium fast action 7’6 “ and even more preferred “Ugly stick elite medium power 6’6 “ ( doesn’t mention action but I’m guessing its extra fast). I preferred ugly stick mainly because i could feel and see even tiniest nibbles and smooches of any sized fish, more so compared to Shield 3. The problem with Ugly stick is that, it is kind of flimsy and way too bendy? Especially during casting, doesn’t matter 1/4oz or 1oz it just bends way too much at all sides. Is there any good rod that is very sensitive, casts good, doesn’t bend like a rubber and does not cost more than $250? St Croix avid fisherman is out of equation, cant find it anywhere nearby and reviews are not according to its price range to say at least.
