Came over from Europe to Texas for a work event and had two full days of bank fishing afterwards to try and catch a 5lb bass (a goal I set for myself). After some input from this sub, picked a lake that ticked all boxes; not too far from Dfw and good shore access. First day was spent exploring a few spots I marked on google maps, caught a few smaller ones. The second day paid off with these two as biggest ones. Was absolutely over the moon with the first one which quickly turned around when I broke my rod, while rushing for cover from a downpour. Still had half a day so after some contemplating, decided to go to basspro and buy a cheap rod, went back to the same spot and then managed to pull the second (slightly bigger than first) out just before dark. Both fish caught on sk caffeine shad in baby bass color, weighless. Any guesses on weight? I have little to no experience with weighing fish as not something we typically do here but believe these must be close to my goal… not that I would be disappointed if not 🙂
